Welcome To The Appalachian Whitetail Association

The Appalachian Whitetail Association is a chartered  nonprofit organization that was founded in January, 2001. It is the first and  only deer hunters' organization of its kind in the Appalachian regions of East  Tennessee, S.W. Virginia, Western North Carolina, Eastern Kentucky and West  Virginia. The AWA is offered to interested Outdoorsmen and Outsdoorswomen of all  ages who care about the future of the Whitetail Deer and Deer Hunting in this region. The Association will focus on three main goals: (1)the betterment of the Whitetail Deer as a species; (2)preservation of quality habitat; (3)continuation of the heritage of Whitetail Deer hunting.

  • Continuation of the Heritage of Whitetail Deer Hunting
     
  • Whether you’re a seasoned outdoorsman or one who is just starting Deer Hunting, take the time to consider the benefits of joining the Appalachian Whitetail Association.

  • You can choose from young sportsman, regular or life membership packages with member number that is unique to you.
  • Monthly AWA meetings at any of the local chapters.
  • Frequent how-to Seminars and special events to improve your skill and knowledge as a hunter and outdoorsman.
  • The Annual AWA Sportsman Classic.
  • The Appalachian Whitetail Association Rub Line Newsletter, and the AWA Website and Talk Forum.
  • For those interested, you can start a chapter of the AWA and make a big impact in your local outdoor area.
  • When available, member only deer hunts in areas open to our Young Sportsman and adult hunters.
  • Exclusive hunting gear and garments with the Legendary AWA Logo
  • A family atmosphere and fellowship with like-minded sportsmen of all ages.
  • The Appalachian Whitetail Association will support:

  • Hunter Education and mentoring Young Sportsmen and adults that are interested in hunting and the Outdoors.
  • Hunters for Sharing The Harvest.
  • Local, State and Federal Wildlife and Fish Agencies.
  • Wildlife Management and Habitat Preservation/Enhancement Partnerships with Landowners
  • Scholarship funding for students seeking degrees in Wildlife Management
  • All Sportsman and Outdoor Clubs in the region regardless of affiliation in the AWA
  • Establishing local chapters of the AWA
